The Scope: The next instalment of Quantic’s musical evolution.

The Will Holland (AKA Quantic) juggernaut continues to roll on with the release of another project. Quantic Presents Flowering Inferno is the latest guise of Holland’s ever expanding musical catalogue. Death Of The Revolution has spawned from the creative juices that were left over from The Quantic Soul Orchestra’s Tropidelico, released later last year.  A noticeable laidback mood has been encapsulated by the use of reggae and dub rhythms. Snappy and bright guitar and piano hooks fuse well into the deeper and darker reggae and dub style beats. It’s evident that Holland’s love affair with Columbia has not yet waned with the use of local instruments incorporated with the piano, guitar and accordion, which Holland all plays. Also tracks that have a very modern feel (Westboun D Train, Mi Chocolatina) stand side by side with tracks that contain more traditional essence (Alegria En Bella Vista), giving the album plenty of scope. The arrangements ooze style and become very easy to loose yourself amongst as the feel-good vibes carry you along. On what is a predominately an instrumental album, the addition of some more vocals would have complemented a few of the snazzy arrangements and sweetened the deal for me.

The Wrap: Spring is in the air and so is Quantic has he serves up some very easy, enjoyable listening.
