What was once a dubious suburban drinking hole is now an upmarket pub. That’s right; The Highway Inn has undergone an ugly-duckling-to-swan transformation, looking schmicker than the current winner from the Biggest Loser crossed between a Pussycat Dolls: Search For The Next Doll contestant. Image isn’t everything though and the Inn (as locals fondly refer to it) has more to offer than state of the art audio, delicious food, stylish décor and a claim to fame that it was Australia's (and possibly the world's) first drive in bottle department. Amid the new fittings, it blends a relaxed vibe around the three bars: the retro style well equipped Sports Bar with full TAB facilities; The Lounge - a design orientated feature bar with fantastic cocktails and chic trimmings and mother of all beer gardens The Deck assisted by sails, up-to-the-minute outdoor settings and a cinema-size TV screen (the only Bytecraft LED screen in an SA hotel). Get into the HWY (another nickname) anyway you can because all of a sudden the west side is smoking.
