JORGE WATTS

You might know him as Loop Killaz, Tokyo 3, Mr WattO or the Azteckid. But most people know him as Jorge Watts. Through his super-tight deejaying in clubs around the world or from recent musical productions on labels such as Global Trax, Subsounds, WetMusik, 1200 Traxx, Hard Hat Recordings, Random Access Recordings Detroit, Thrillseekers, Undefined Australia and Vast Recordings, Jorge has made an enormously loud “bang” at the forefront of Australian house and techno music.

And I stand out because... I play loud.

Your love affair for dance music all started when... When I first heard Deskee – Let There Be House in 1989, I had just turned 16.

What track of yours is on rotation at Fresh FM?Up To The Sky – Jorge Watts and Control Myself – LL Cool J & J Lo (Jorge Watts’ Fat Cap Club Mix).

Best thing about local scene? I can get a pint of Pale Ale in Adelaide; try getting a pint of anything in Melbourne geez. They give you these lil’ glasses that look like the cups ya drank cordial out of as a kid!

If I were a movie I’d be... Style Wars.

Do you have an album coming out? The Up To The Sky EP is about to come out on New York label 1200 Traxx. It is going to come with my original and a remix from Wally Callerio plus another track I did called Jazz Me - most likely. Then there will be a separate remixes EP, with some awesome names on it, but like I’ve told your editor, I can’t say who it is yet till everything is sorted with 1200 Traxx. But don’t worry the mixes are done…

One musician Jorge Watts would like to collaborate with? At the moment it would have to be Stylophonic, Tigerskin and Paco Osuna.

Most underrated music star? Dubfire.

Most cherished album? It’s really too heavy to say.
