Just like a 50 cent bag of lollies from the corner shop, the Adelaide Festival’s after-hours free show The Grab Bag looks like being sweet and delicious. Hosted in The Famous Spiegeltent in Elder Park (where the Artists’ Bar will be located), The Grab Bag is a program of events presented by Adelaide Festival artistic director Paul Grabowsky.
Once the curtain falls on Julia Zemiro’s Comfort Zone and La Clique, The Famous Spiegeltent will open its doors to performers traversing the gamut of musical genres – and as one might expect with Paul, there is a rich undertone of jazz. Highlights include new frontiers of improvisation with Marc Hannaford to the talents of Megan Washington and Elana Stone, who both have their roots in the world of jazz and improvisation crossing over to pop/rock and indie music, to reggae dub group Mista Savona featuring Jamaican artist Prince Alla. The Grab Bag in The Famous Spiegeltent in Elder Park commences just after the curtain falls on La Clique, at around 11.30pm each night. Entry is free! Details: http://adelaidefestival.com.au.
