A stunning display of underground New York hip hop will be on show at HQ on Fri Apr 16, as Talib Kweli and Jean Grae co-headline this anticipated event.
With Mos Def, Talib Kweli came to attention with the group Black Star and since then has emerged as one of the most acclaimed rhymers to appear post the golden age with solo albums Quality and Eardrum and Train Of Thought with Hi-Tek, as Reflection Eternal. The conscious rapper has new albums lined up including Prisoner Of Consciousness and a second Reflection Eternal album called Revolutions Per Minute. Described by Kweli as “one of the last true MCs left”, Jean Grae combines street poetry with her unique rawness and her body of work includes the acclaimed 9th Wonder hook-up Jeanius.
Tickets on sale Wed Feb 17 from VenueTix, Da Klinic and Clinic 116.
